Update 7/11/21: the car still runs great. I drive a 2017 subaru outback for work, and despite the outback having more power, I far prefer my Spectra. It also has more climate control settings than your average car that costs twice as much, with 9 fan speeds and many more temperature settings than any other car I've driven. This car is amazingly reliable and affordable. As for … maintenance I have only had to do regular service, and, as long as you treat the car well, you'll most likely never have to do any advanced repairs for a long time to come. Despite what the reviews seem to say here, my LX does have ac which has never once needed to be repaired, only recharged once. She now has 114K miles on her over 12 years and I can safely say this is the best car I've ever owned. I am pretty sure those 2 miles were put on by me in my test drive too. I bought my 2008 Kia Spectra from the dealer with 2 miles on it in april of 2008. As such, the 2008 Kia Spectra will likely appeal only to those economy sedan and hatchback shoppers on a tight budget. One should also consider the Spectra's lackluster safety attributes and lack of up-to-date convenience features. And since that test, redesigned models of the Mitsubishi Lancer and Nissan Sentra have come out. This still holds true, as those cars remain our favorites in this class due to their edge in refinement and performance. In a comparison test we held a few years ago, the Spectra ranked 3rd, coming behind the Honda Civic and Mazda 3. Factor in a transaction price typically lower than the competition and that 10-year powertrain warranty and the Spectra looks like a smart choice. Thanks to its comfortable and roomy interior and peppy 2.0-liter engine, the Spectra is a good companion to have for a daily commute. I went into the dealership and talked with their sales manager. I found this hard to believe since the tires "should" have only a combined 18000 miles on them. I took the car into a reputable tire repair shop and they told me that both of my rear tires were completely shot. Within 5000 miles of driving it, one of my back rear tires starting losing pressure. The car had roughly 13k miles on it when it was purchased. Recently bought a used 2019 Mazda-3 from this dealership. The less money you spend at the pump, the more money you'll have to spend on y.
